UV/Vis Spectroscopy

Ultraviolet and Visible Spectroscopy.

The UV spectroscopy (ultraviolet spectroscopy) is a physical technique of the optical spectroscopy that uses light in the visible (VIS), ultraviolet and near infrared ranges.

The measurement of a UV-VIS spectrum is recorded with a UV-VIS spectrometer, from which various devices from different manufacturers for general and specific applications are commercially available. The recorded spectra data are evaluated and interpreted. A UV / VIS absorption spectrum gives information about the electronic transitions in a molecule. Qualitatively, this spectroscopic method can be used by interpreting the shape and position of the resulting absorption bands for structural elucidation. As a quantitative method of analytical chemistry, the UV spectroscopy is used as a very sensitive detection method of individual chemical compounds and chromophoric groups.

Below you will find online available information resources on uv vis spectroscopy.
