The chemistry and physics of zeolites.

Zeolites are members of the group of aluminosilicate minerals characterised by a microporous structure.

The zeolites form a group in nature widespread or artificially produced, hydrous crystalline alkali and alkaline earth aluminosilicates that occur in numerous modifications. The representatives of the class of materials are primarily used as ion exchangers and molecular sieves to absorb various substances as catalysts and in detergents and many other zeolite products. The absorbent properties result from the microporous structure of the zeolites, which are composed of AlO4-- and SiO4- tetrahedra. Counterions here are alkali and alkaline earth ions.

Below you will find online available information and sources on the chemistry and physics of the zeolites.
